The Grand Prize at the 24th Song Eun Art Awards Goes to Artist Tak Youngjun
The SongEun Art Foundation announced on the 7th that artist Tak Youngjun (36) has been selected as the grand prize winner of the 24th SongEun Art Award.

View original imageThe SongEun Art Award is a program that discovers the most capable contemporary emerging artists and has been held annually since 2001. For the 24th Art Award, 598 artists applied, and 20 artists (teams) were selected for the finals.
Artist Tak Youngjun has presented works that visualize the intersection of queer (sexual minority) identity, religious beliefs, and unique spatiality through video, sculpture, and two-dimensional forms.
The grand prize winner receives a cash prize of 20 million KRW and an opportunity to hold a solo exhibition at SongEun in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul. Additionally, with sponsorship from the SongEun Art Foundation and Cartier, two works by the grand prize winner will be purchased. These works will be held respectively by the SongEun Art Foundation (one piece) and the Seoul Museum of Art (one piece).
The works of the 20 finalists (teams) of the 24th SongEun Art Award, including Tak Youngjun, can be viewed at SongEun until the 22nd of next month.

They are granted the opportunity to participate in the SongEun Art Award exhibition and eligibility to apply for the residency program at the Delfina Foundation in London, UK. The Delfina Foundation selects one artist to support a 12-week residency program. The Delfina Foundation is a nonprofit organization operating the largest international residency in London and is building an international art platform.
