Jeonbuk-do Hosts Art Contest to Support Bid for 2036 Summer Olympics
Olympics Reinterpreted, Ideas Invited... Submissions Accepted Until the 24th
Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province is holding an art contest to wish for the successful bid for the 2036 Summer Olympics, capturing the dreams and hopes of Jeonbuk’s future generations.
According to Jeonbuk Province on the 8th, this contest is open to children and youth aged 6 to under 19 who reside in Jeonbuk. It offers them the opportunity to freely express their vision of the Olympics and their passion for bringing the Games to Jeonbuk.

View original imageThe theme of the contest is “Wishing for the 2036 Summer Olympics to be hosted in Jeonbuk: The Olympics as Imagined by Children and Youth.” Participants may reinterpret the Olympics or present new ideas based on their own unique perspectives and creativity.
This contest, organized by Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, is being held in cooperation with the Jeonbuk Provincial Council, Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education, Jeonbuk Sports Council, and Jeonbuk Academy Association.
Children and youth who wish to participate should draw their artwork on size 8 drawing paper for elementary students, and size 4 drawing paper for middle and high school students, and submit it by mail to the External Cooperation TF Division by the 24th.
The judging panel, consisting of experts from the fields of art and sports, will comprehensively evaluate the entries based on thematic expression, creativity, and completeness of the work. After a fair review, a total of 21 artworks?seven each from the elementary, middle, and high school divisions?will be selected as final winners.
Winners will receive certificates such as the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Governor’s Award, the Provincial Council Chairman’s Award, and the Superintendent of Education’s Award. The selected works will be exhibited both online and offline, including in the provincial government lobby and on the Jeonbuk Province website, until the 28th of next month when the domestic candidate city for the 2036 Summer Olympics is selected. This aims to share the creative ideas of Jeonbuk’s future generations and their passion for hosting the Olympics with the residents of the province.
Lee Jeongseok, head of the 2036 Summer Olympics Bid TF Headquarters, said, “This contest is more than just an art competition; it is an important opportunity to share the dreams and hopes of Jeonbuk’s future generations and to raise interest and support among residents for the Olympic bid. We hope that children and youth in the province will actively participate with creative and meaningful works.”
