Deputy Minister Go Gi-dong, who has been acting Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for a month, stated, "We have a great responsibility to protect the ordinary day and peaceful daily life of the people," adding, "We are paying the most attention to disasters."
At the New Year's informal meeting held at the Government Sejong Complex on the 7th, Deputy Minister Go said, "There have been heavy snowfalls and cold waves in winter, as well as passenger plane accidents. We are making more efforts than usual to respond very promptly."

Deputy Minister Go said he is focusing on digital government matters next to disaster management. Referring to the large-scale national administrative network system outage that occurred two years ago, he said, "Since all government services are now conducted digitally, we are focusing on managing the stable operation of digital services without any disruptions."
He added, "Not only management, but since Korea's digital government ranks first in the world, we are actively encouraging the use of artificial intelligence in various situations without hesitation."
