Walk, Rest, and Meet All in One Place... Geumcheon-gu Doksan-dong 'Ansim Forest Path' Created
Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), Installation of Exercise Equipment and Shelters to Enhance Safety and Convenience
Rose Garden, Stream Creation for Eco-Friendly Green Space Formation
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it has completed the creation of the Ansim Forest Path within the green facility area of Doksan-dong and opened it to residents.
The 'Ansim Forest Path' (Doksan-dong 1089-1) was created on a green area of 5,975㎡ near the school routes of Ancheon Elementary and Middle Schools to provide residents with a safe and pleasant street environment.
In the middle of the buffer green space, a 520m-long wooden deck walkway (deck road) was constructed, allowing residents to enjoy nature while taking a stroll. Throughout the path, sunshades (pergolas) and benches are installed so people can rest comfortably.
Additionally, for safety, three closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and 23 lighting fixtures were newly installed.
Near the entrance of Ancheon Elementary School, a rose garden was created along a stream designed like a small valley in the forest, planted with various trees and flowers to provide visual enjoyment for residents.
In particular, while creating the new forest path, the district preserved and maintained existing trees and planted 24 new species of trees (12,919 trees) and 17 species of flowers (14,331 plants), making the urban landscape more eco-friendly and minimizing damage to the green space.
Along the walking path, rest areas were created around the school routes of Ancheon Elementary and Middle Schools, allowing not only students and parents but also residents to take breaks. A complex exercise area equipped with fitness equipment and a meeting space were also provided so residents can use the space in various ways.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “I hope the Ansim Forest Path located on the school routes of Ancheon Elementary and Middle Schools will become a safe street environment for the district,” and added, “We will also create a 340m Health Forest Path in the Doksan Hanshin Apartment area to complete a total 1,180m forest path connecting Geumha Forest Path to Ansim Forest Path.”
