Court Dismisses President Yoon's Side's Objection to Arrest and Search Warrants
The objection filed by President Yoon Seok-yeol's side requesting the court to prohibit the execution of arrest and search warrants was dismissed.
Judge Ma Seong-yeong of the Criminal Division 7 at the Seoul Western District Court dismissed President Yoon's side's objection on the 5th. The specific reasons for the dismissal have not been disclosed.
Earlier, on the 2nd, President Yoon's lawyers raised an objection to the court, claiming there were issues with the warrant contents ahead of the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Office (Gongsoocheo)'s attempt to execute the warrant.
The claim was that the phrase written by the judge on the warrant, "Articles 110 and 111 of the Criminal Procedure Act do not apply to this warrant," violated Article 12 of the Constitution, which states that "no arrest, detention, search, or seizure shall be made except as provided by law."
