Two Emergency Medical Institutions in Incheon, Including Inha University Hospital, Ranked First Nationwide in Ministry of Health and Welfare Evaluation
Two emergency medical institutions in Incheon ranked first nationwide in the '2024 Emergency Medical Institution Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
According to Incheon City on the 3rd, Inha University Hospital, a regional and pediatric specialized emergency medical center, and Incheon Himchan General Hospital, a regional emergency medical institution, each received an A grade, securing the top position nationwide. In particular, both institutions scored highly in the timeliness and stability of emergency medical service provision.
This evaluation was conducted on a total of 408 institutions nationwide, including 44 regional and pediatric specialized emergency medical centers, 136 regional emergency medical centers, and 228 regional emergency medical institutions. Among them, Incheon had 21 institutions included in the evaluation: 2 regional and pediatric specialized emergency medical centers, 9 regional emergency medical centers, and 10 regional emergency medical institutions.
The emergency medical institution evaluation was based on 13 items and 31 detailed indicators across seven areas: appropriateness of facilities, personnel, and equipment, as well as safety, effectiveness, timeliness, functionality, and publicness. This evaluation is conducted annually nationwide to assess and improve the quality level of emergency medical services.
