The Jinju area in Gyeongnam experienced heavy rain flooding damage last September, resulting in somewhat poor green chili pepper crop conditions, and virus damage has also occurred, leading to more first-grade products rather than premium-grade ones. Prices are currently about 10,000 KRW lower per 10 kg compared to the previous year based on Cheongyang chili peppers.

Head Ryu stated, “Last year, abnormal weather caused severe damage to agricultural products in Gyeongnam. The green chili peppers in the Jinju area also suffered from heavy rain flooding damage, but farmers, administration, and Nonghyup worked together to overcome it well. Moving forward, we will review various measures to alleviate the difficulties of farmers affected by such abnormal weather as much as possible, share damage status with related organizations, and do our best to provide support.”
