Park Ju-min: "If the Presidential Security Service obstructs the execution of Yoon's arrest warrant, it constitutes obstruction of official duties"
"If You Were a Former Prosecutor General, You Should Have Voluntarily Appeared"
As an arrest warrant has been requested for President Yoon Suk-yeol, Park Ju-min, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized, saying, "If he is a president who was formerly the Prosecutor General, shouldn't he show compliance with the law?" and added, "He should have voluntarily appeared before the arrest warrant was issued."
On the 31st, Park said on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show,' "President Yoon has emphasized in his statements that he 'will not hesitate to take legal responsibility,' 'will undergo investigation,' and that 'his actions were justified,'" but pointed out, "Yet he is refusing to appear when summoned."
Regarding concerns that the Presidential Security Service might block the execution of the arrest warrant if it is issued, Park said, "The president takes an oath to abide by the Constitution and laws upon inauguration. The Security Service protecting the president should do the same," adding, "Blocking the execution is an absurd matter." Park emphasized, "Once the warrant is issued, the Security Service should ensure the president can safely go to the investigative agency," and questioned, "What danger to personal safety is there in going to the investigative agency and cooperating with the investigation?"
Previously, the Presidential Security Service had blocked the execution of search warrants on the police, presidential office, official residence, and private residence, citing 'military secrets' and 'national interests.' On this, Park explained, "Articles 110 and 111 of the Criminal Procedure Act stipulate that for facilities requiring security or secrets acquired by public officials in the course of their duties, approval from the authorized person is required to conduct a search and seizure," and added, "The previous search was not carried out because of this regulation."

He continued, "However, there are no such protective provisions regarding arrest or detention," and pointed out, "If an arrest warrant is issued and they go to arrest President Yoon, but the Security Service obstructs it, that would be obstruction of official duties." He further stated, "The investigative agency's dispatch does not pose a threat to personal safety," and remarked, "Having to repeatedly state such an obvious fact makes me somewhat skeptical as a legal professional."
