Police: "Additional Complaints by Civic Groups, Acting Chief Choi Sang-mok and Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung Booked"
45 People Including the Accused Booked
Including 19 Current and Former Military Personnel
The police investigating the 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law' incident have registered Choi Sang-mok, Acting President, and Shim Woo-jung, Prosecutor General, as suspects.
The Emergency Martial Law Special Investigation Unit of the National Police Agency announced on the 30th, "Following a citizen group's accusation, we have registered Choi Sang-mok, Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister as well as Minister of Strategy and Finance, Park Se-hyun, Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office who led the Special Investigation Headquarters, Shim Woo-jung, Prosecutor General, and Lee Ho-young, Acting Commissioner of the National Police Agency, as suspects."
Previously, the civic group Candlelight Action had filed a complaint with the police accusing Acting President Choi and members of the People Power Party in the National Assembly of conspiring to commit insurrection and aiding its execution.
So far, a total of 45 individuals, including the accused, have been registered as suspects in connection with the emergency martial law incident. This includes 21 government and ruling party officials, 17 active-duty military personnel, 2 reservists, totaling 19 current and former military personnel, and 5 police officers. Among the 19 current and former military personnel, all except Yeo In-hyung, Commander of the Counterintelligence Command, Lee Jin-woo, Commander of the Capital Defense Command, and Kwak Jong-geun, Commander of the Special Warfare Command, have been investigated.

Among the Cabinet members, 12 have been registered as suspects, including President Yoon Seok-yeol, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, 9 other Cabinet members, and Cho Tae-yong, Director of the National Intelligence Service. The police sent a second summons to Prime Minister Han on the same day. Additionally, Yoo In-chon, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, was also registered as a suspect following a complaint related to controlling access to the Korea National University of Arts during the martial law period.
