Searching for the Whereabouts of 9 Unaccounted-for Students Not Confirmed on Board
It has been confirmed that five officials from the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education and three students from the local area were on board the Jeju Air passenger plane that crashed at Muan International Airport in Jeonnam.
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 29th, five grade 5 officials and three students from the Office of Education were on board Jeju Air flight 7C 2216 from Bangkok, Thailand, which crashed at Muan Airport at around 9:03 a.m. that day. In addition to these passengers, the birthdates of nine more students were confirmed, and their local affiliations are currently being identified.

Colleagues are in great shock after hearing the news of the accident,” and added, “All of them were highly capable and had good relationships with their coworkers, so this is truly heartbreaking. It appears they were returning from a personal gathering in Bangkok when the accident occurred.”

The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education has dispatched staff to the situation room at the Jeonnam Provincial Government and to the family waiting area at the accident site to provide emergency response and support for the Jeju Air accident at Muan Airport. In addition, staff have been sent to Mokpo Korea Hospital and Mokpo Central Hospital, where the victims have been transported, to monitor the status of the students and staff in real time.
