Three Disaster Medical Support Teams Dispatched to Muan Airport Passenger Plane Accident Site
Ministry of Health and Welfare Dispatches Rapid Response Teams and 2nd Vice Minister to Health Centers... "Committed to Emergency Support"
The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 29th that it will operate a disaster medical support system in relation to the passenger plane accident that occurred at Muan International Airport in Jeonnam. After receiving the situation report at 9:12 a.m. that day, a 'Code Orange' was issued and medical response was initiated.
Currently, all three Disaster Medical Assistance Teams (DMAT) from the nearby Gwangju and Jeonnam areas, along with rapid response teams from public health centers, have been dispatched to provide emergency medical support. Additionally, to ensure a swift response and recovery at the scene, Deputy Minister Park Min-su of the Ministry of Health and Welfare was urgently sent to the accident site.

Minister Cho Kyu-hong of the Ministry of Health and Welfare received reports on the status of casualties and response measures, stating, "We will cooperate actively with the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters to minimize casualties and do our best to support emergency medical care."
