Geumcheon-gu Holds Meeting for Youth Policy Development

Sharing Activity Experiences by Youth Groups and Exploring Youth Policy Directions
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that on December 27 at 4 p.m., a meeting was held in the small conference room of Geumcheon-gu Office with representatives of youth participation organizations.
The meeting was organized to share experiences of youth policy participation activities and to explore the future direction of youth policies.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Yu Seong-hoon, six youth representatives including members of the Youth Participation Committee, and the director of Doksan Youth Culture House.
Youth representatives shared their impressions and memorable cases from their activities in each organization.
The Youth Operation Committee of Geumcheon Youth Culture House shared their experiences of various activities aimed at youth-centered space management by directly advising and evaluating facilities and programs. The Youth Operation Committee of Doksan Youth Culture House shared cases of planning events that youth could enjoy, such as the summer festival ‘Stress Fuller Watsseom’ and the youth club joint workshop.
The Youth Council introduced activities that foster democratic citizenship awareness through resident participation budget reviews and youth mock UN events, emphasizing the importance of policy participation. The Youth Participation Committee discussed cases that contributed to enhancing the effectiveness of youth policies by monitoring policies and exploring community needs.
Additionally, opinions were exchanged on various youth policies including expanding learning spaces, providing convenience facilities for stress relief, and improving local environmental issues.
Based on the opinions gathered at the meeting, the district plans to further develop youth policies for 2025.
A youth participant said, “I felt proud when the ideas I suggested during the youth festival meeting were reflected in the event and I saw my friends enjoying themselves at the festival.”

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, “It is good for youth to have clear goals, but I hope they gain broad and diverse experiences,” adding, “The creative ideas and passion of youth will be the driving force to further develop Geumcheon-gu.”
