Daegu Seo-gu Office, 140 Employees Collect 8 Million Won in 'Salary Change' to Help Neighbors

Daegu Seo-gu (District Mayor Ryu Hanguk) announced that it held a spare change donation event on the 24th to deliver warm hearts to the underprivileged neighbors in the local community during the year-end and New Year season.
The spare change donation involves employees donating amounts less than 10,000 KRW from their monthly salaries. This year, about 140 employees voluntarily participated, raising a total of 15,897,000 KRW so far.
Employees of Daegu Seo-gu Office collected 8 million won from their salary change to purchase year-end neighbor aid supplies and are taking a commemorative photo.
View original imageIn this donation event, 8 million KRW from the collected spare change was donated to the Community Chest of Korea to provide food items such as ramen and curry, as well as daily necessities, to 100 low-income single-person households. Additionally, 3 million KRW was contributed as sponsorship to the Happy Madang Food Market, a welfare platform for neighbors in welfare blind spots.
The spare change donation by Daegu Seo-gu Office employees began in 2013, and through continuous small donations and volunteer activities, they have donated about 75 million KRW until last year, including Love Bundles, UNICEF donations, and briquette volunteer work.
