Kyochong: "AI Textbooks Should Be Used Autonomously Instead of Mandatory Adoption... Must Undergo Verification"
The Korea Federation of Teachers' Associations (KFTA) suggested having an opportunity to autonomously utilize and verify AI digital textbooks instead of fully implementing them in the 2025 academic year.
On the 24th, KFTA stated, "Due to political confrontations between ruling and opposition parties and legislative efforts without consensus, prolonged legal disputes and conflicts are inevitable, and massive public funds and administrative resources are expected to be wasted in the process." They added, "Even the metropolitan and provincial offices of education are already divided over support and opposition, further increasing confusion in schools."
They further argued, "It is necessary for metropolitan and provincial offices of education and schools to autonomously use the textbooks to verify their effectiveness and side effects, and then proceed with policy supplementation and improvement."
