Starbucks Sends Beverages to Fire Agency for Firefighters
Selection of Hero Support Program Recipients
Scholarship Support for Children of Fallen Public Officials
Starbucks Korea announced on the 24th that it has selected firefighters as beneficiaries of the ‘Hero Support Program’ and signed a business agreement to provide welfare benefits.
Based on this agreement, Starbucks will engage in support activities for firefighters who work hard to ensure safety at disaster sites, including ▲providing beverages to fire stations selected by the National Fire Agency ▲operating a scholarship support program for children of fallen firefighters. Starbucks plans to deliver a total of 300 million KRW in scholarships to the children of fallen firefighters over the next three years, with 100 million KRW each year.

View original imageIn fact, even before the agreement, last November, Starbucks supported firefighters by donating a total of 1,190 cups of coffee and food to eight fire stations in the Seoul area selected by the Seoul Fire & Disaster Headquarters in celebration of Firefighters’ Day.
The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Ji-young, ESG Team Leader of Starbucks, Jeong Geon-il, Manager of the National Fire Agency, and Jo Nam-gwon, Secretary General of the Korea National Council on Social Welfare.
Heo Seok-gon, Commissioner of the National Fire Agency, said, “We thank Starbucks and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare for their heartfelt support for firefighters and consolation for the families of fallen firefighters. The National Fire Agency will also strive harder for the safety of the people.”
Kim Seong-i, Chairman of the Korea National Council on Social Welfare, said, “We are pleased to start a social contribution program for firefighters who have devoted themselves to our society together with Starbucks and the National Fire Agency,” adding, “The Korea National Council on Social Welfare will do its best to support various social contribution programs with Starbucks and the National Fire Agency.”
