This year, BPA led the development of the platform as the general and demand institution after its project, "Establishment of a Real-time Information Sharing Platform for Maritime Port Logistics Based on Blockchain," submitted to Busan Technopark's "2024 Regional Specialized Industry Convergence Blockchain Joint Project," was selected as a designated task.
A BPA official expressed gratitude, stating, “With the full support and cooperation of the project’s leading organizations, Busan City and Busan Technopark, we were able to focus solely on system development and build a highly complete system in a short period.” He added, “We plan to continue advancing Port-i to contribute to Busan City’s position and capabilities as a blockchain specialized cluster.”
At this performance sharing meeting, BPA explained the system’s background, implementation details, key features, expected effects, and future plans, emphasizing enhanced convenience primarily for shipping companies using Busan Port.
The system’s main features include ▲ship monitoring and anomaly detection ▲cargo monitoring and anomaly detection ▲integrated berth scheduling for all Busan Port terminals (10 in total). Through these services, shipping companies are expected to process transshipment cargo timely, increasing ship loading rates and generating additional revenue.
