Scholarship donations for nurturing local talent who will lead the future of Pohang continue to be made.
On the 23rd, a scholarship award ceremony of the Pohang Scholarship Foundation was held at City Hall. The Gyeongbuk Outdoor Advertising Association Pohang Branch and the Pohang Rural Vitality Division donated scholarships of 5 million won, 2 million won, and 1.5 million won respectively. View original imageOn the 23rd, the Pohang branch of the Gyeongbuk Outdoor Advertising Association donated 5 million KRW to the Pohang Scholarship Foundation as a scholarship fund for fostering local talent.
The Pohang branch of the Gyeongbuk Outdoor Advertising Association has been steadily donating scholarships for local youth since 2012, contributing a total of 35 million KRW to date.
Choi Ki-song, head of the Pohang branch, said, “We made this donation to support Pohang’s future talent development scholarship projects, such as the establishment of a research-oriented medical school at POSTECH. We will continue to strive to contribute to the development of the local community as a member of the Pohang branch of the Outdoor Advertising Association.”
On the same day, Jukjang Apple Agricultural Cooperative Corporation donated 2 million KRW from the director’s award prize money received at the 10th GAP Certification Best Practices Competition held by the Agricultural Products Quality Management Service in November to the Pohang Scholarship Foundation for the development of local education and talent cultivation.
Established in 1995, Jukjang Apple Agricultural Cooperative Corporation has been actively working for community development throughout the region by hosting local apple festivals, fostering apple distribution organizations, and promoting sales.
Additionally, the Pohang City Rural Vitality Division donated the full prize money of 1.5 million KRW from the ‘2024 Gyeongbuk Province Innovation and Proactive Administration Best Practices’ award to the Pohang Scholarship Foundation.
The Rural Vitality Division received the grand prize in the proactive administration category at the 2024 Gyeongbuk Province Innovation and Proactive Administration Best Practices Competition held last October at the Stanford Hotel in Andong for the project titled “Urban Agriculture for All: Pohang-style Care Farm Project.”
