Developed in 2023, it has been actively spread to schools starting in 2024, and it is followed from kindergartens to citizens, establishing itself as a national exercise routine.
Gyeonggi Education supports the healthy growth of students by revitalizing school sports through Oasis morning exercises, school sports clubs, superintendent's cup competitions, and more, aiming to nurture future talents with character and competence.
On the 21st, the Provincial Office of Education held the Stretching Exercise Contest at the Southern Office Building. Twenty-seven teams and about 300 students participated in the contest, and various events such as flash mobs, random play dance, and coffee trucks were held, providing students with abundant Christmas gifts.
The Stretching Exercise Contest featured KT Wiz professional baseball cheerleader Kim Jin-ah, who participated in creating the stretching exercise, demonstrating the routine with students and contributing her talent by performing choreography to popular songs.
Alongside this, the Provincial Office of Education held a Shorts Video Contest. Thirty schools participated, showcasing unique and creative works. Snack boxes were gifted to 30 outstanding teams, creating warm moments at the end of the semester.
The outstanding works from the Stretching Exercise Shorts Contest can be viewed on the Provincial Office of Education’s website.
A student from Uiwang Deokseong Elementary School who participated in the Stretching Exercise Contest said, “As soon as I heard the stretching exercise song, my shoulders started moving, and I quickly followed the movements. Participating in the contest made me feel united with my friends, and encouraged by the teacher’s support, I practiced hard.”
Kim Dong-kwon, Director of the Physical Education and Health Division at the Provincial Office of Education, said, “The lively physical activity experience with friends helps healthy physical growth and can become an unforgettable memory in life. We will strive to establish elementary physical education that supports holistic growth in the field.”
