[2025 Regular Admission Special] Ajou University to Admit 50 Students in Medical Department with 'Medical School Expansion'
764 New Students Scheduled to Be Admitted in Regular Admissions
Ajou University will select 764 students, accounting for 32.7% of the total number of recruits, in the regular admissions for the 2025 academic year. By recruitment group, 218 freshmen will be selected in Group B and 546 in Group C.
The medical department, which was increased according to government policy, will recruit 50 students through the CSAT (General Admission Type 1). The Ajou University medical department, which previously had a quota of 40 students, will select 110 students in the 2025 academic year.
A newly established Division of Liberal Studies, which recruits by dividing into humanities and natural sciences, has also been introduced. Students in the Division of Liberal Studies can freely choose any department within Ajou University regardless of their admission track. However, some departments are excluded. For regular admissions, 88 students in natural sciences and 48 students in humanities will be selected through the CSAT (General Admission Type 2).
Ajou University will abolish the restriction on CSAT subject selection for natural science recruitment units in the 2025 regular admissions and will provide additional points by subject. If students in natural science recruitment units choose Calculus or Geometry in Mathematics, or Science Inquiry subjects, a 3% additional score will be given based on the standard score for Mathematics and the percentile converted score for Inquiry. There are no changes or additional points for humanities recruitment units.
CSAT scores are reflected using standard scores for Korean and Mathematics, subject-specific converted scores for Inquiry, and grade-based separate converted scores for English. The converted scores for the Inquiry section can be checked on the Ajou University Admissions Office website after the CSAT results are announced. English subject converted scores are assigned according to grades for each recruitment unit, and for Korean History, a grade-based penalty is applied for grades below 5.
General Admission Type 1 (Medical Department) and Rural Area Student Admission (Medical Department) in Group B are conducted with 95% CSAT and 5% interview, selecting 50 and 1 student respectively. The interview evaluation consists of a passage-based interview and an individual interview based on the applicant’s school records. The passage-based interview involves reading a given passage within a set time and answering questions related to it.
General Admission Type 2 in Group B (Pharmacy Department and Division of Liberal Studies) and General Admission Type 3 in Group C (excluding Medical Department, Pharmacy Department, and Division of Liberal Studies), and General Admission Type 4 (Cross-application) select students based on 100% CSAT scores. Subjects reflected include Korean, Mathematics, English, Inquiry (choose 2 from Social Studies or Science), and Korean History, regardless of natural or humanities track.
The Defense IT Talent Admission Type 2 recruits 7 students for the Department of Defense Digital Convergence in Group B through a multi-stage process. The first stage selects five times the number of candidates based on 100% CSAT scores, and the second stage reflects 80% CSAT and 20% interview scores. There is a minimum CSAT requirement of Korean History grade 3 or better. Physical examination, fitness test, and background check conducted by the Air Force Headquarters are evaluated only for eligibility without scoring. If disqualified, the applicant is rejected regardless of scores and no waiting list is assigned.
