Suncheon City Receives Grade 2 for Integrity in Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Evaluation for Second Consecutive Year
Establishing Itself as a 'Top Integrity City': The Only Report Card Among Five Cities in Jeonnam
Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) has achieved a Grade 2 rating in the 2024 Comprehensive Integrity Assessment for Public Institutions, organized annually by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, following last year's achievement.
According to the assessment by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission on the 19th, the city scored 72.5 points in perceived integrity and 94.2 points in integrity efforts. With no deductions for corruption cases, Suncheon was the only one among the five cities in Jeollanam-do to receive a Grade 2 rating.
In particular, the external integrity score from civil petitioners increased by 5.3 points compared to last year, and the integrity effort score improved by 2.7 points to 94.2, demonstrating that the city's various internal and external initiatives to enhance integrity have been effective.
To promote a culture of integrity, the city consistently implemented a range of integrity policies throughout the year, including basic integrity education, integrity broadcasts and video production and promotion with Integrity Supporters, integrity campaigns through business agreements with Gongsinyeon, integrity concerts with citizens, and the Cheongbasi initiative with MZ generation employees.
A city official stated, "Next year, we will focus on strengthening communication by listening to citizens' voices externally and establishing a culture of integrity within the organization internally, striving even harder to achieve a Grade 1 rating in integrity."
