Hanwha Ocean Achieves First Oil Production from Qatar Offshore Facility
"Proving Marine Plant Capability Once Again"
Hanwha Ocean's fixed offshore oil production facility succeeded in producing its first oil two weeks ahead of schedule.
On the 15th, Hanwha Ocean announced that its fixed offshore oil production facility, built for the Al-Shaheen oil field in Qatar, the world's largest offshore oil field area, began producing oil earlier than planned.

After about 20 days of navigation, the facility arrived on site and, over approximately three months, successfully completed the installation of the topside structure, subsea structure, connecting structures for surrounding equipment, various piping and electrical connections, as well as commissioning of internal equipment and systems, before starting oil production.
The first oil production was a trial run conducted after safely connecting the facility and preventing marine pollution, indicating that full-scale commercial production is now possible.
In particular, the early success in oil production once again demonstrated Hanwha Ocean's world-class technological capabilities and competitiveness as a high value-added, high-tech marine plant manufacturer.
Qatar plans to actively order fixed offshore oil and gas production facilities for several years to come. This achievement is expected to have a positive impact on Hanwha Ocean's future business activities in the Middle East region. Through this success, Hanwha Ocean anticipates accelerating its transformation into an EPCIO (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Operation) solution provider.
