A Mojito at Starbucks... Cocktail Pilot Stores Expanded to 11 Locations
Millak The Market, Gwanggyo SK View Lake 41F Added
First Introduced at Yeongrangho Resort Branch in April
"Decision on Continuation After Assessing Customer Response"
Starbucks Korea announced on the 18th that it will add Millak The Market store and Gwanggyo SK View Lake 41F store as new pilot stores for cocktail beverage sales starting from the 19th and 20th. With this, customers can experience Starbucks cocktail beverages at a total of 11 stores.
To offer a new beverage experience, Starbucks first introduced four types of cocktail beverages at Yeongnangho Resort store in April this year. In September, it opened the special Jangchung Lounge R store, introducing a mixology bar for the first time in domestic Starbucks stores, where various ingredients such as other beverages or fruits are combined with alcoholic drinks to create cocktail beverages.
Afterward, to check customer preferences and gather broad feedback on cocktail beverages, Starbucks expanded the pilot operation of cocktail beverages starting with Yeouido TP Tower store in October, followed by Ttukseom Station Intersection store, Gwangju Siridan-gil store, K-Square Gangnam store, Seongsu Station store, Sinsa Station Seongil Building store in November, and Gwangju Pungam Hosu Park store in December.
At the nine general stores conducting pilot sales since October this year, five types of cocktail beverages are sold, including 'Grapefruit Honey Vodka Blended,' 'Lavender Earl Grey Highball,' 'Papaya Youthberry Mojito,' 'Bourbon Whiskey Cream Cold Brew,' and 'White Moscato Sangria,' which mix coffee and tea beverages with alcoholic drinks. At Yeouido TP Tower store, 'Prosciutto Grissini,' a food item consisting of breadsticks served with dried prosciutto and olives that pair well with cocktail beverages, is also offered.
At Jangchung Lounge R store, customers can experience a total of 11 different cocktail beverages developed from Starbucks’ signature coffee menu items such as espresso, latte, and cold brew at a separate mixology bar. These include 'Espresso Martini,' 'Latte Whiskey Martini,' 'Citrus Cold Brew Martini,' and 'Bourbon Whiskey Cream Cold Brew.' Yeongnangho Resort store sells four types of cocktail beverages: 'Cold Brew Brown Ring Whiskey,' 'Grapefruit Honey Vodka Blended,' 'Lavender Earl Grey Highball,' and 'Papaya Youthberry Mojito.'
Some of the cocktail beverages offer options to enjoy them without alcohol. On the 26th, Starbucks plans to launch 'Red Wine Vin Chaud,' a warm cocktail beverage combining the flavors of tea infused with port wine, herbs, and spices with refreshing orange and lemon, at 10 stores excluding Yeongnangho Resort store.
Starbucks will review whether to continue operating the pilot stores for cocktail beverage sales after testing customer responses and operational conditions.
