Meeting on the Completion of Mural Painting at the 5th Division Medical Unit
The mural project titled 'Civil-Military-Government Collaborative Mural Painting,' a special initiative by the Resident Autonomy Committee of Jeongok-eup, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province, began at the 5th Division Medical Unit in Eundae-ri on November 19 and was completed on December 6. Under the theme 'Together to the Future YES Yeoncheon,' the mural depicts Yeoncheon-gun’s history and culture (including the Prehistoric Museum, hand axes, Gorongimirongi, Eundaeri Fortress, Jaein Waterfall, etc.) and uniformed heroes who protect social safety (Yonggami, Hoguki, Podori).

View original imageAccording to Yeoncheon-gun on the 17th, on the 13th, a meeting was held attended by the Yeoncheon-gun governor, the 5th Division commander, the Jeongok-eup mayor, and officials from the Jeongok-eup Resident Autonomy Committee (Chairperson Yang Sujeong) to share the mural production process, achievements, and impressions, discuss cooperation methods between the military and the local community, and award certificates of commendation to local contributors who participated in the mural painting.
Kim Deokhyun, governor of Yeoncheon-gun, said, “The mural painting was successfully carried out through mutual cooperation among local residents (Resident Autonomy Committee), the military unit, and Jeongok-eup staff,” and added, “I thank the Jeongok-eup Resident Autonomy Committee, the 5th Division Medical Unit, the Jeongok-eup Administrative Welfare Center, and the artists who planned and prepared the event despite the cold weather.”
Kim Jaegu, mayor of Jeongok-eup, stated, “I hope the mural conveys a bright and peaceful energy to the residents who see it,” and added, “We will do our best to make Jeongok-eup a better and happier place to live.”
