The ThinQ API for individuals supports controlling and monitoring home appliances registered in the LG ThinQ app across various smart home platforms. By utilizing the ThinQ API, users can easily configure a customized smart home tailored to their lifestyle. For example, users of the global smart home platform 'Home Assistant' can now connect and control a total of 26 LG home appliances, including refrigerators and washing machines, within their existing smart home environment through the open ThinQ API. Home Assistant is a community-based open platform with about one million users worldwide who collaboratively develop various smart home functions such as device automation and feature expansion.
The ThinQ Business API for enterprises supports partner companies operating office and residential buildings to integrate and manage various LG Electronics products, from home appliances to HVAC and signage commercial equipment, within their existing apps. By utilizing the ThinQ Business API, LG home appliances can be integrated into residential large building management apps, allowing residents to reserve the use of LG Electronics washing machines and dryers located in common areas through the building management app. Building managers can easily monitor abnormal conditions of the building through integration with LG Electronics temperature and humidity sensors and quickly respond to issues with alert functions.
