The briefing is hosted by the Former Jeonnam Provincial Government Building Restoration Council, composed of Gwangju City, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Former Jeonnam Provincial Government Building Restoration Promotion Team, and the Former Jeonnam Provincial Government Building Restoration Pan-City and Provincial Citizens’ Countermeasures Committee.
At the briefing, the Restoration Council plans to report on changes to the exhibition content disclosed last September and the results of citizen feedback collection. Additionally, through a Q&A session with citizens, they aim to enhance understanding of the exhibition content and gather suggestions.
The Council intends to continue close communication with those involved in the May 18 Democratic Uprising, experts, and citizens to ensure that the noble historical value of the May 18 Democratic Uprising is fully reflected in the restoration of the former Jeonnam Provincial Government Building.
The restoration project of the former Jeonnam Provincial Government Building began construction in August last year and is being promoted with the goal of completion by the end of October next year.
