Ait "Enhances Utilization of Autonomous Driving Digital Twin Technology"
Simulation-based digital twin solution company E8 announced on the 13th that it has received the transfer of VLM (Visual Language Model)-based multi-object tracking technology for autonomous driving from the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI).
VLM technology is an advanced technology that combines computer vision and natural language processing to detect and track multiple objects in real time. It can track objects with high accuracy by fusing user-input text information and video. While existing object detection and tracking technologies operated based on predefined specific objects, VLM-based technology features flexibility by interpreting information input by users in text form to dynamically detect and track desired objects.
Recently, demand for various application services utilizing real-time streaming video data has been increasing. In particular, precise object detection and tracking technology based on video data has become an essential element in various industries such as security surveillance, transportation, safety, manufacturing, and smart cities.
Currently, domestic research institutes and universities are actively conducting research on visual language models and their application to autonomous driving and security systems. Commercialization technologies are also being developed in the medical, security, and manufacturing sectors.
