The attendees freely asked questions and made suggestions regarding Jeonnam education policies and educational issues in the Wando region, sharing various opinions. Regarding improving the living conditions for faculty members in Wando, Superintendent Kim said, “Teachers are the core of education. We are making efforts to expand faculty housing,” and added, “We will actively support this through cooperation with local governments.”
He continued, “To support students’ career and college admissions, we are operating visiting career education, hub centers, and mobile counseling linked with the Education Support Office,” emphasizing, “We will also actively consider counseling through online portals and support from the most popular instructors in the metropolitan area.”
On the high ratio of new teachers in the Wando region, he explained, “Among the approximately 19,000 teachers in Jeonnam, there are difficulties due to regional preferences based on living conditions. We are enhancing teacher professionalism through various training programs and striving to have experienced teachers enter less preferred areas by improving the personnel system,” adding, “We are discussing prioritizing the placement of regular teachers in Wando and assigning contract teachers to urban areas.”
