Over 300 Attendees Including Foreign Ambassadors and Commercial Attaches in Korea

The Korea Importers Association announced on the 10th that it held the ‘15th Korea Import Day and the 54th Anniversary of the Korea Importers Association’ ceremony at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.

View original imageThe event was attended by over 300 people, including ambassadors and commercial attach?s from 96 countries such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Morocco, representatives from trade-related organizations in Korea, the Director-General of Trade and Investment at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the President of the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation, and leaders from the import industry.
Among the import contributors who have contributed to the development of domestic industry by stably supplying raw materials despite the global supply chain crisis, Kim Hwiyoung, CEO of SeedGen, received the Presidential Citation, and Shin Kyungtaek, Chairman of Nampyeong IT, received the Prime Minister’s Citation. Kim Byungkwan, Chairman of the Korea Importers Association, was awarded the Industrial Medal.
Subsequently, the KOIMA AWARDS were presented to five foreign ambassadors in Korea, including the Ambassador of Morocco to Korea, and related organizations that have contributed to strengthening cooperative projects with the Importers Association and enhancing the association’s status.
Chairman Kim Byungkwan emphasized in his welcoming speech, “The Korea Importers Association will focus its capabilities on building future-oriented partnerships with various countries and play a practical role in proactively responding to ongoing global changes to strengthen competitiveness in securing global supply chains. Next year, we plan to actively dispatch import delegations worldwide to expand global supply chains and hold the Korea Import Expo at COEX in July, among other proactive activities.”
Kim Daeja, Director-General of Trade and Investment at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, said, “We deeply appreciate the Korea Importers Association’s contribution to stabilizing and diversifying global supply chains amid changes demanded by new trade environments such as the spread of advanced technologies, acceleration of digital transformation, and transition to a green economy. The government will actively promote innovative and sustainable trade policies such as digital trade and the establishment of carbon-neutral supply chains to proactively respond to these changes and strengthen the competitiveness of our industries.”
