View original imageLee Seok-hee, CEO of SK On, stated on the 9th during a special lecture at Korea University, "SK On will change the world through technological innovation." This was his first public activity following the executive personnel reshuffle at SK On on the 5th, which focused on deploying technical talent, revealing his technology-centered management philosophy.
According to SK On on the 10th, CEO Lee made these remarks during a special lecture titled "Envisioned Future, Together We Move Forward" held at Korea University in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. About 100 attendees, including professors researching secondary batteries and master's and doctoral students, participated in the lecture.
The special lecture took place at the Choi Jong-hyun Hall in the SK Future Hall. The SK Future Hall was completed in 2019 with donations from SK Group and others. CEO Lee said, "I am pleased to share SK On's story of changing the world through technological innovation at the SK Future Hall, a place of educational innovation creating new future values."
CEO Lee stated, "SK On has achieved world-class technological development in energy density, rapid charging, and safety, as well as doubling sales every year," adding, "Our future growth goal is to accelerate the electrification era through technological innovation."
He continued, "The core of electrification is improving battery performance," emphasizing, "The battery industry is a technology-based manufacturing sector, and we must focus on R&D to secure the products and technologies that customers need. We will not spare investment in people and research for this purpose."
On the 5th, SK On appointed Pi Seung-ho, head of manufacturing and development at SK Siltron, as the head of manufacturing through an executive personnel reshuffle. Pi is a manufacturing expert who served as the Flash Process Team Leader and R&D process manager at SK Hynix.
CEO Lee is also a technology expert who previously served as CEO of SK Hynix. After working as an engineer at Hyundai Electronics and Intel in the U.S., he served as a professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at KAIST starting in 2010. He became CEO of SK Hynix in 2018 and has been CEO of SK On since 2023.

Meanwhile, SK On is actively securing outstanding talent through CEO special lectures starting with Seoul National University in July. Additionally, it nurtures master's and doctoral students through battery contract departments at KAIST, UNIST, Sungkyunkwan University, and Hanyang University, and supports talent through joint research centers at Yonsei University and Hanyang University. R&D personnel are being recruited continuously.
