'Beyonce's Husband' Jay-Z Accused of Sexual Assault on a Minor... "Atrocious" Denied Completely
Jay-Z (55), the husband of famous American rapper and pop star Beyonc?, has been sued for sexually assaulting a minor.
On the 8th (local time), local media including NBC and CNN reported that Jay-Z was sued in a civil lawsuit for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2000 along with 'Puff Daddy' Sean John Combs (55). Initially, the lawsuit was filed against Combs in the New York State Court last October, but it was later amended to include Jay-Z as a new defendant.
The anonymous woman who filed the lawsuit claimed that she was sexually assaulted at a party held after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards when she was 13 years old. She stated that after drinking a beverage given to her at the party, she felt "like vomiting, dizzy, and needing to lie down," so she went into a room, where Jay-Z and Combs entered and sexually assaulted her.
Jay-Z strongly denied the sexual assault allegations. He issued an official statement saying, "These allegations are so heinous that I urge a criminal case to be filed instead of a civil lawsuit," and added, "Anyone who commits such crimes against minors should be put in jail."
He also mentioned his children, saying, "My heart breaks thinking about my kids seeing these claims and being questioned by their friends," reiterating that the allegations are false. Jay-Z married Beyonc? in 2008, and they have one son and two daughters.
Jay-Z also criticized attorney Tony Buzzbee, who filed the lawsuit, saying, "I have noticed a pattern of someone who enjoys putting on these kinds of shows." He stated, "(Buzzbee) made the terrible mistake of thinking all celebrities are the same," and added, "I am a successful young man from Brooklyn, and I do not play these kinds of games. We protect our children." Attorney Buzzbee has previously filed multiple civil lawsuits seeking compensation for victims related to Combs' sexual assault and sexual abuse of minors.
American hip-hop mogul Combs shocked the public in September when allegations surfaced accusing him of sexual violence over the past 25 years. Currently, Combs is incarcerated at the Brooklyn Federal Detention Center in New York, having been arrested on charges including prostitution and extortion.
