View original imageJeonnam Province announced that it has prepared a variety of celebratory events on the 10th, the day of the Nobel Prize in Literature award ceremony for author Han Kang.
On that day at 4 p.m., at the Jeonnam Provincial Library, literary special lectures, poetry recitations, readings of congratulatory letters, and celebratory performances involving local cultural artists will be held to commemorate Han Kang's global achievements and share the excitement of winning the Nobel Prize in Literature with the residents.
To celebrate Han Kang's 124th Nobel Prize in Literature award, the provincial library will give a single rose to the first 124 residents who borrow books.
The Jeonnam Writers' Association will hold an event distributing Han Kang's works, such as The Vegetarian and Human Acts, to attendees.
In particular, in Jangheung-gun, Han Kang's hometown, a celebration event will be held at the Han Seungwon Literary School in Anyang-myeon starting around 11:40 p.m. on the 10th, coinciding with the local time of the Nobel Prize award ceremony in Sweden, where local residents plan to watch the Nobel Prize in Literature award ceremony live together.
