Gyeonggi-do Icheon City announced on the 9th that it will conduct a comprehensive crackdown on the illegal distribution of the local currency 'Gyeonggi Icheon Sarang Local Gift Certificate' until the 20th.
This comprehensive crackdown aims to eradicate fraudulent transactions abusing the local love gift certificates and to realize the original purpose of revitalizing the local economy. The targets of the crackdown include ▲ refusal of payment or additional charges by affiliated stores ▲ operation of restricted businesses such as entertainment establishments ▲ receiving and exchanging local love gift certificates without selling goods or providing services.
During the comprehensive crackdown period, the city plans to focus on inspecting affiliated stores reported by residents for illegal distribution or those where abnormal transactions are detected through affiliated store data analysis. Affiliated stores caught during the crackdown will face administrative actions according to the law, such as on-site guidance, fines, and cancellation of store registration.
