The city selects individuals as honorary citizens if they have contributed to the development of the local economy or the advancement of municipal administration.
Chairman Kwon has made significant efforts to expand overseas exports of Gongju’s agricultural and specialty products by pioneering overseas markets and securing distribution channels, greatly contributing to the development of the city’s administration.
In particular, last August, he signed an export business agreement to enter the U.S. market with local agricultural products. He has also been cooperating to expand exports by promoting and marketing Gongju’s agricultural and specialty products at the H Mart LA branch in the United States.
Mayor Choi Woncheol stated, “I believe the future of Gongju City is bright because there are people who contribute to regional development through their valuable connections with the city,” adding, “We will continue to promote various communication and exchanges for mutual development between Gongju City and our honorary citizens.”
