Operation of Mandatory Paternity Leave and Flexible Work System for Men
Lotte Wellfood (formerly Lotte Confectionery) announced on the 9th that it has been selected as the 1st Korea Work-Life Balance Excellent Company, hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and organized by the Korea Labor Foundation.

The Korea Work-Life Balance Excellent Company Award selects exemplary companies where employees achieve a balance between work and life through various systems such as flexible working hours and combining work with childcare. This award was held for the first time this year, and out of 385 applicant companies, a final 203 companies were selected through a review by a judging committee composed of experts, participating ministries, and economic organizations.
The selected excellent companies receive various benefits such as exemption from regular labor inspections for three years, deferment of customs investigations according to company size, and preferential interest rates. Additional tax benefits will also be provided in the future through amendments to the Equal Employment Opportunity Act and the Restriction of Special Taxation Act.
Lotte Wellfood operates various childbirth and childcare support systems tailored to life stages, including ▲mandatory paternity leave and expanded maternity leave ▲childbirth congratulatory money and childcare allowances ▲providing Pasteur formula milk according to growth stages ▲reduced working hours during childcare periods ▲childcare leave for children's school entrance ▲vehicle rental support for multi-child families ▲and operation of workplace daycare centers. Additionally, it has continuously improved the working environment for its members through ▲flexible work systems ▲utilization of hub offices and telecommuting ▲PC On/Off system ▲business etiquette campaigns such as refraining from contacting employees after work ▲psychological counseling support programs ▲and welfare facilities such as health care rooms, gyms, and lounges.
