Padoo Selected as a '2024 Korea Work-Life Balance Excellent Company'
Efforts Recognized for Flexible Work and Employee Welfare
Employee-Centered Systems Such as 'Self-Approved Leave'
Data center semiconductor specialist company Pado announced on the 9th that it has been selected as a '2024 Korea Work-Life Balance Excellent Company.'
With this selection, Pado has solidified its position as a company that has established an advanced culture. Previously, Pado was also selected as a '2023 Work-Life Balance Practice Company' and a '2020·2023 Korea Job Excellence Company.'
Pado received high marks for improving work productivity and leading a work-life balance culture by implementing various systems such as promoting flexible working hours, reducing working and overtime hours, strengthening childcare support, encouraging vacation use, and expanding internal communication.
In particular, it was evaluated that by introducing a system that allows flexible management of working hours, Pado actively supports employees' work-life balance. Due to the irregular timing of busy periods in the semiconductor industry, employees can flexibly adjust their working hours. For example, if work is concentrated at the beginning of the month, they work more then and reduce working hours at the end of the month.
To establish an advanced vacation culture, the usage procedure was simplified. The step of obtaining approval from a superior when applying for annual leave was removed, allowing employees to autonomously use vacation through self-approval without writing a reason. Additionally, a half-day leave system and annual leave exceeding the statutory vacation days are provided to maximize employees' rest.
Along with this, Pado encourages male employees to take parental leave and supports children's health checkups and birth congratulatory money to actively support the balance between work and family. Various programs that strengthen internal communication such as 'Townhall Meeting,' 'Random Lunch,' and 'Team Workshop,' as well as the operation of the 'Pulse Survey' to reflect employee opinions, also received positive evaluations.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Korea Employers Federation, Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Korea Federation of SMEs select excellent companies that have worked hard for workers' work-life balance as 'Work-Life Balance Excellent Companies.' Starting this year, the existing 'Work Innovation Excellent Company' system has been expanded and reorganized into the 'Work-Life Balance Excellent Company' system with significantly increased selection criteria and benefits, aiming to spread advanced cases to other companies.
This time, 100 companies including Pado were selected as excellent companies. The selected companies will receive excellent company benefits and follow-up management for the next three years. They are also expected to contribute to spreading exemplary cases through the publication of an excellent company casebook.
