Democrats: "Prosecutors Should Not Lead Treason Investigation... Special Prosecutor and National Police Agency Must Investigate"
The opposition parties, including the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the prosecution's accelerated investigation into President Yoon Seok-yeol as a suspect in the charge of rebellion, calling it a "fabricated investigation," and argued that the investigation should be conducted by a special prosecutor for rebellion and the National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters instead of the prosecution.

Cho Guk, leader of the Cho Guk Innovation Party, also attended the party's impeachment promotion committee meeting held at the National Assembly that day and mentioned suspicions of a connection between Park Se-hyun, head of the prosecution's special investigation headquarters, and Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party.
Cho said, "Prosecutor Park is a junior alumnus of Han Dong-hoon from Hyundai High School and Seoul National University Law School, and they have a close relationship," adding, "One of the main perpetrators of the rebellion, Kim Yong-hyun, voluntarily walked into the prosecution, so could there be a secret pact between Yoon Seok-yeol and Han Dong-hoon?"
Han emphasized the need for a strict investigation in a public address at the Yeouido party headquarters that morning, but the opposition views this part as suspicious.
In his statement, Han said, "Regarding the ongoing emergency martial law situation, the investigation by investigative agencies will be conducted strictly, without sanctuary, and transparently," and "Neither the government nor the party will protect anyone, including the president."
Ultimately, the opposition seems to believe that the prosecution is responding to Han's plan to avoid impeachment through a strict investigation of President Yoon. For this reason, the opposition insists that more support should be given to the police National Investigation Headquarters rather than the prosecution.
Kim, the Supreme Council member, argued, "The National Investigation Headquarters should conduct the investigation swiftly and boldly," and "All military personnel involved, including Yoon Seok-yeol, should be arrested and searched, and the degree of involvement of participants in the State Council meeting should be investigated."

Along with this, the Democratic Party is expected to immediately launch a 'special prosecutor for rebellion.' Kim said, "The National Investigation Headquarters should investigate and then proceed to the special prosecutor," adding, "The National Assembly should promptly pass the special prosecutor bill for rebellion and cooperate with the military prosecution to ensure the investigation is carried out."
