President Yoon's Impeachment Proposal Reported to National Assembly Plenary Session... Vote Possible as Early as the 6th
The impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol was reported to the National Assembly plenary session in the early morning of the 5th.
Six opposition parties?the Democratic Party of Korea, the Party for National Innovation, the Reform Party, the Progressive Party, the Basic Income Party, and the Social Democratic Party?submitted the impeachment motion against President Yoon to the National Assembly Secretariat the day before.
The impeachment motion must be voted on within 72 hours after 24 hours have passed since it was reported to the plenary session. It is expected that the vote will take place between the 6th and 7th at the earliest.
The People Power Party decided to oppose the impeachment motion against President Yoon as the party's official stance. The Democratic Party is reportedly planning for its leadership to decide the timing of the vote.
