Ulju-gun Office Haetteumi Ssireum Team Wins Top Danjeon at Cheonhajangsa Ssireum Tournament; Kim Muho Crowned Halla Jangsa
The Ulju County Office Haetteumi Ssireum Team celebrated a double victory on the 29th at the ‘Withus Pharmaceutical 2024 Cheonhajangsa Ssireum Festival’ held at the Yeongam Indoor Gymnasium in Yeongam County, Jeollanam-do, winning the Men’s General Division Strongest Match and with player Kim Muho crowned as Halla Champion.
Led by coach Lee Daejin, the Ulju County Office Haetteumi Ssireum Team defeated the home team Yeongam County Folk Ssireum Team (Jeollanam-do) 4-3 in the Men’s General Division Strongest Match final, becoming the nation’s top ssireum team.
Ulju County Office took the first two rounds consecutively, then lost one round to Cha Minsu, who came up by choice of the Yeongam County Folk Ssireum Team, but Kim Muho brought back a round with a mil-eochigi (pushing throw), leading 3-1. Afterwards, they lost two consecutive rounds to Yeongam County Folk Ssireum Team, tying the score, and ultimately won the Men’s General Division Strongest Match after a fierce battle going to the seventh and final round.
In the following Halla Champion Deciding Match (under 105 kg), Kim Muho lost the first round to Park Mingyo (Yongin Special City Office) by mil-eochigi, but quickly took two rounds by successfully performing deulbaejigi (lifting throw) and mil-eochigi.

In the fourth round, Park Mingyo tied the score 2-2 with ogumdanggi (leg lock throw), but in the final fifth round, Kim Muho defeated Park Mingyo with deotgeori (hooking throw), becoming the sixth Halla Champion.
