Guro-gu to Recruit 4,591 Participants for Senior Job Program in 2025
Recruitment Increased by 313 Compared to Last Year, Total Budget Up 8%
Applications Accepted from December 2 to December 13...Apply at Local Dong Community Centers or Project Execution Agencies
Guro-gu is recruiting 4,591 participants for the ‘2025 Senior Job Program.’
The total number of recruits has increased by 313 compared to the previous year, and a total budget of 19.1 billion KRW, an 8% increase, will be invested.
The Senior Job Program is divided into ▲Senior Public Interest Activity Project (social participation activities to promote community public interest) ▲Senior Capacity Utilization Project (providing services in socially necessary areas by utilizing experience and capabilities) ▲Community Project Group (joint operation of small stores and specialized job groups to create senior jobs) ▲Employment Support (connecting those with job-related skills to demand sites), and participants are recruited by sector.
The number of recruits by sector is 3,641 for the Senior Public Interest Activity Project, 600 for the Senior Capacity Utilization Project, 227 for the Community Project Group, and 123 for Employment Support.
Eligibility for participation is as follows: for the Senior Public Interest Activity Project, recipients of the basic pension aged 65 or older and regional pension recipients (if they meet the criteria set by the Minister of Health and Welfare); for the Senior Capacity Utilization Project, aged 65 or older; and for the Community Project Group and Employment Support, aged 60 or older. However, ▲recipients of livelihood benefits ▲National Health Insurance workplace subscribers (except for Employment Support type) ▲those rated for long-term care insurance ▲participants in two or more job projects promoted by government ministries or local governments ▲foreigners residing in Korea are excluded from selection.
Those wishing to participate can visit their local community service center or project implementing agencies (Guro Senior Club, Guro Senior Welfare Center, Korean Senior Citizens Association Guro Branch, Gung-dong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Hwawon Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Onsu Senior Welfare Center, Guro Senior Care Integrated Center, Guro Comprehensive Social Welfare Center) from the 2nd to the 13th of this month to submit required documents such as a resident registration certificate.
Participants will be selected in order of highest scores according to the selection criteria table for each project type.
A Guro-gu official said, “Since the program will be expanded to allow more seniors to participate than in 2024, we hope that seniors will take an interest and apply,” adding, “We will actively support seniors so they can enjoy a healthy and vibrant old age.”

The district plans to enroll participants in accident insurance, social insurance, and liability insurance before activities begin and conduct quarterly training to prevent safety accidents among participants in the senior job program.
