Korea Teachers' Credit Union Opens Nominations for the 14th Republic of Korea Teacher Award
The Korea Teachers' Credit Union is accepting applications for candidates for the 14th Republic of Korea Teacher Award until the 26th of this month.
According to the Credit Union on the 2nd, the selection categories for the Republic of Korea Teacher Award include one candidate each for Early Childhood Education and Special Education, three candidates each for Elementary and Secondary Education, two candidates for University Education, and one candidate for Lifelong Education, totaling 11 recipients. Among the winners in each category, one will be selected as the Grand Prize winner. Awardees will receive government medals and plaques, with prize money of 20 million KRW for the Grand Prize winner and 10 million KRW for category winners.
Nominees should be current educators with over 10 years of teaching experience who have contributed excellently to education development through outstanding achievements in teaching, education, academic, and research activities, and who have made efforts for student education and are respected. Candidates can be recommended through two methods: institutional head recommendation and public recommendation. The deadline for institutional head recommendations is the 6th of this month, and for public recommendations, it is the 26th. After preliminary screening, main screening, and merit evaluation, the final winners will be selected. The award ceremony is scheduled to be held in May next year.
The Republic of Korea Teacher Award is an education award jointly hosted by the Credit Union and the Ministry of Education, established to foster a culture of respect for teachers and boost teacher morale by recognizing outstanding educators who have contributed to the development of education.
