Uijeongbu City, Information Library Renovated... Temporarily Closed Until November 30 Next Year
After 20 Years Since Opening... Temporarily Closed from January 2 Next Year for Remodeling
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 2nd that the Uijeongbu Information Library, which opened in 2003, will undergo remodeling and will be temporarily closed from January 2 to November 30 next year.
This remodeling is being carried out comprehensively to improve the environment due to aging facilities and to fulfill new roles suited to the changed environment.
The space across three floors, from the basement level 1 to the 2nd floor of the library, will be reorganized to change its functions.
To minimize inconvenience to citizens caused by noise, vibration, and dust during construction and to prevent safety accidents, the library will cease operations during the construction period.
The library will be available for use only until the 31st, and interlibrary loan requests and book reservations can be made until the 23rd. For any inquiries, you can contact the Information Library Team for guidance.

An official from Uijeongbu City stated, “We will remodel the Information Library, which has been open for more than 20 years, to provide a safer and more comfortable environment. We ask for the understanding and cooperation of citizens during the temporary closure. We will strive to complete the remodeling smoothly so that it can transform into an open cultural space for the citizens.”
