DGIST, Development Foundation Officially Launched
Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST, President Geonwoo Lee) announced on the 2nd the official launch of the "DGIST Foundation for Development (Development Foundation)" to commemorate its 20th anniversary.

View original imageThe DGIST Development Foundation, which held its first regular board meeting on the 29th, was established to raise various funds and support education, research, and international exchange through these funds. In particular, it is expected to contribute to nurturing core science and technology talents and regional industrial development through student scholarship programs, support for academic activities, dissemination of research achievements, and commercialization.
The inaugural chairman of the Development Foundation is Chunggon Lee, chairman of SL Corporation, a leading company in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region. The inaugural executives include ▲ Geonwoo Lee, DGIST President ▲ Injoong Lee, Honorary Chairman of HS Hwaseong ▲ Sanggi Seo, President of the Korea Science and Space Youth Corps ▲ Ilho Son, CEO and Chairman of Kyungchang Industry Co., Ltd. ▲ Sangtae Kim, Chairman of PHC Co., Ltd. ▲ Jaeha Lee, Chairman of Sambo Motors ▲ Yoonkyung Park, Chairman of Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and CEO and Chairman of KK Co., Ltd. ▲ Jaeho Yoon, Chairman of Gyeongbuk Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Kim Hoejun, Director of DGIST Global Cooperation Office, was appointed as the executive director to participate in the foundation's operations.
Chunggon Lee, Chairman of the DGIST Development Foundation, expressed his aspiration, saying, "The Development Foundation will play a pivotal role in DGIST's leap to becoming a global research university."
