Gwangju Seo-gu to Conduct Safety Inspections at 9 Construction Sites Until the 6th of Next Month
Formation of Joint Public-Private Inspection Team Including Advisory Group and Related Agencies
Seo-gu, Gwangju City (Mayor Kim I-gang) announced on the 29th that it will conduct safety inspections of construction sites within the district to prevent winter season accidents until the 6th of next month.
Starting with the Hwajeong I-Park construction site on the day, Seo-gu will inspect nine construction sites within the district that have more than two basement floors, a site area of over 3,000㎡, and excavation depths exceeding 10 meters.

View original imageIn particular, to secure expertise in safety inspections and enhance effectiveness, a public-private joint inspection team has been formed, including safety management advisory groups and related organizations.
The main inspection items include ▲whether regular safety inspections are conducted according to the safety management plan, establishment of emergency contact networks, and appropriateness of safety facilities installation such as safety railings ▲whether winter construction plans such as the use of Hanjoong concrete and thermal curing are established ▲inspection of winter safety management conditions such as measures to prevent facility collapse and overturning due to heavy or strong snowfall, and anti-slip measures in freezing sections.
Seo-gu plans to promptly implement safety measures such as access control for hazardous factors found on-site during inspections and suggest improvement directions to the managing entities.
Additionally, for matters requiring budget securing such as repairs, reinforcements, and safety diagnoses, the managing institutions will be instructed to establish mid- to long-term plans for management, and continuous management will be maintained until the hazardous factors are resolved.

Mayor Kim I-gang of Seo-gu said, “We are thoroughly inspecting and preventing issues at various public livelihood sites in preparation for the winter season,” and added, “We will do our best to eliminate potential risks at construction sites during winter through proactive safety inspections.”
