View original imageThe Korea Public Brand Promotion Institute is a non-profit corporation registered with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, established to promote public brands and enhance the value of systematic management for public brands including those of the nation, cities, public institutions, and public enterprises. Since last year, it has held the first-ever pure public brand awards ceremony in Korea, selecting public brands that have contributed to raising the public value of our society and fostering community spirit in the public sector, including the national government, local governments, public institutions, public enterprises, and private companies.
In this evaluation, Governor Kim Jin-tae was recognized for demonstrating comprehensive leadership by successfully launching Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, commencing the Osaek Cable Car construction for the first time in 41 years, successfully hosting the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics, and reorganizing the future industrial base of Gangwon Province by newly establishing advanced industry foundations such as semiconductors, bio, and hydrogen.
In particular, Governor Kim personally took the stage as a presenter at the bio-specialized complex contest evaluation meeting, visited Gangneung and Seoul in person to strongly advocate for the necessity of selecting the Gangwon region during the on-site evaluation of the natural materials full-cycle standardization hub contest project and the face-to-face evaluation of the semiconductor joint research institute, showing great dedication to establishing a future industrial base.
Currently, Gangwon Province is simultaneously promoting nine government-funded semiconductor-related projects worth 220 billion KRW, and has achieved the distinction of being selected for both the bio-specialized complex and the hydrogen-specialized complex.
Additionally, as the head of the provincial government, Governor Kim has established a disaster response system to protect the lives and property of residents, taking proactive measures that resulted in the lowest wildfire damage in 22 years this spring. He has also been praised for sound financial management by improving fiscal health through prudent budgeting?spending when necessary and saving when possible.
