162 Companies Participate at EXCO Daegu Food Expo Opening... Coffee & Cafe Expo Also Held
On the 29th, the 22nd Daegu Food Industry Expo and the 13th Daegu Coffee & Cafe Expo simultaneously opened at EXCO.
Held under the theme "Powerful Daegu, Delicious Daegu," this Daegu Food Industry Expo featured 162 companies with 187 booths, presenting a diverse food festival where tradition and the future coexist.
In particular, the newly established Dalbit Railroad Special Pavilion this year offers visitors the chance to taste various foods from seven local governments along the Dalbit Railroad route (Goryeong-gun, Hapcheon-gun, Geochang-gun, Hamyang-gun, Sunchang-gun, Damyang-gun, Gwangju Metropolitan City) and obtain regional tourism information. The Food College Pavilion provides opportunities to experience activities such as tart making and healthy bakery, with participation from five local universities.
Additionally, the Food Tech Pavilion features companies such as Younghyun Robotics, Ditek, and Hyundai Robotics, showcasing dining spaces integrated with advanced technology.
Moreover, various themed pavilions have been set up, including the Daegu 10 Flavors Pavilion, Premium Korean Food Pavilion, Food Alley Pavilion, Bread Pilgrimage Pavilion, Dalbit Railroad Special Pavilion, and Food College Pavilion. Large distributors and buyer consultation meetings, as well as product briefing sessions invited by the Daegu Mart Distribution Association, are held to contribute to the local food and dining industry.
The Daegu Coffee & Cafe Expo, under the theme "CAFE-人, Daegu," features 74 companies with 196 booths, promoting Daegu's status as a coffee city and leading efforts to support market expansion for the local food and beverage industry.
Notably, the Roastery Gathering 2024, which brings together 30 famous roasteries nationwide, serves as a communication platform with renowned roasteries from Seoul, Busan, and other regions, as well as leading local coffee culture companies from Pohang, Jinju, Gunsan, and more. The Daegu Cup Tasters Championship (DCTC), held for the first time this year, is a preliminary competition for the "Korea Cup Tasters Championship (KCTC)" scheduled to be held at next year's Daegu Coffee & Cafe Expo. About 100 participants nationwide compete to showcase their coffee tasting skills. The KCTC is the Korean representative selection competition for the World Coffee Championships (WCC) World Cup Tasters Championship (WCTC), hosted by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).
Other attractions include hand drip and drip bag making experiences, coffee quiz contests, and more.

The Daegu Food Industry Expo and Coffee & Cafe Expo will be held until December 1st at EXCO West Hall Exhibition Halls 1 and 2. The visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the last day closing at 5 p.m.
