View original imageAccording to Mokpo Maritime Police on the 29th, this committee was conducted to proactively prevent maritime accidents in the winter and to establish an organic cooperative rescue system. The Regional Maritime Search and Rescue Technology Committee operates under the 'Act on Search and Rescue on Water' to develop rapid and effective search and rescue activity plans and to carry out appropriate search and rescue missions by utilizing civilian technology and expertise.
The meeting began with a presentation on the '2024 Winter Weather Forecast' by the Mokpo Weather Station of the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, followed by discussions on △ analysis of maritime accidents during the winter over the past five years and prevention measures △ sharing cases of fishing vessel capsizing accidents △ confirmation of cooperation and support among rescue organizations and groups △ and collecting opinions from related agencies on maritime accident preparedness and response.
