Mokpo Coast Guard Decides 'Leniency' for 12 Cases at Minor Crime Review Committee
Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Kwon Oh-seong) announced on the 27th that it held the second half minor crime review committee meeting on the 26th in a small conference room, with three internal members of Mokpo Maritime Police and four external members including legal experts participating.

View original imageThe Minor Crime Review Committee is a system that comprehensively evaluates whether to reduce penalties for cases expected to result in fines, detention, or fines of 200,000 won or less, by considering factors such as habituality, motive of the crime, age, and the minor nature of the damage.
At the meeting, seven review committee members examined a total of 21 agenda items including violations of the Marine Environment Management Act, deciding on 12 cases of warnings, 4 cases of summary judgments, and maintaining the original disposition (criminal charges) for 5 cases.
