"Received Food Completely Different from Photo"

View original imageA netizen shared a story about ordering a product from a famous yogurt ice cream specialty store and being outraged by the starkly different appearance from the photo.
On the 23rd, a post titled "Reporting a Dubai Yogurt Shop That Deceives Consumers" was uploaded to an online community. The author, Mr. A, began by saying, "Today, I ordered Dubai yogurt ice cream from a franchise that sells yogurt ice cream." The product description stated, "Handmade pistachio spread + real kadaif + chocolate coating. Strongly recommended signature ice cream," and the price was 16,000 won.
Additionally, the product image showed three scoops of yogurt ice cream along with pistachio spread and kadaif filling the container completely. However, the ice cream Mr. A actually received was so little that it barely covered the bottom of the container. The spread, chocolate coating, and other elements also looked clearly different from the advertised image.
Mr. A lamented, "In disbelief, I wrote a review asking, 'Does this even look like the same food?' but I was informed that the review was taken down at the owner's request." He continued, "Since it was the weekend, I ordered from a store near Seoul’s Haengdang Station, but when I received the delivery, it looked so different from the photo that I didn’t even touch it and carefully stored it." He added, "I immediately contacted the delivery app saying 'It looks nothing like the photo,' but the store gave a ridiculous response." The owner reportedly explained, "Regarding the photo you mentioned, the chocolate coating was applied less to make the pistachio visible," and "Please understand that the food you ordered was served with more chocolate coating."
Mr. A claimed, "This is consumer deception. The quantity is really small." He also said, "When I checked the franchise’s website, it said the profit margin is 70%, but it seems the store deliberately made and sent a completely different product to increase their margin." Furthermore, he added, "If you pay 16,000 won and receive food that looks nothing like the photo, can you just let it go like a pushover? I think leaving this unaddressed means Korean consumers will continue to be deceived."
