It is reported that Kim voluntarily decided to resign for the sake of his juniors. He joined Hyundai Motor in 1988 and was appointed Head of Global Strategy in 2009. Since then, he has served as Executive Director, Vice President, and President of the Planning and Coordination Office, acting as a close executive to Chairman Chung Eui-sun and overseeing the group’s planning operations.
