It also received high ratings in the 2024 ESG evaluations by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS) and Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI).
In this evaluation, KT was highly rated across all areas of environment, society, and governance. In the environmental sector, efforts to transition to energy-efficient facilities, such as the introduction of the 'AI-based Telecom Room Cooling Temperature Optimization Solution,' were well received. KT was the first in the domestic telecommunications industry to calculate greenhouse gas emissions on a consolidated basis, implemented biodiversity conservation activities, and promoted the disclosure of climate-related information.
In the social sector, KT achieved 'Zero Major Accidents among KT Group and Partner Companies' for two consecutive years by conducting regular and ad-hoc risk assessments involving employee participation. It established a safety and health management system by publishing a casebook on accident prevention to avoid recurrence of occupational accidents and worked on building a systematic ESG management system, including securing safety measures at each stage of customer personal information processing.
Additionally, KT received the Ethics Champion Award for the first time among domestic companies at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) awards ceremony organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) through its Digital Citizen Project.
